Join us for the most complete Northern Lights chase experience in Tromsø. With our eco-friendly philosophy, delicious local food, knowledgeable guides and drivers, we will take you on an Arctic journey that you will never forget.
Your Arctic hosts will pick you up at your hotel and your Northern Lights adventure will start at Bårstua, a local café in downtown Tromsø, where you will meet your group and your friendly and knowledgeable guide. You will have the chance to learn about the science behind the Aurora Borealis through an interesting video whilst sipping on a hot drink next to a fireplace.
Get your seat on a comfortable, new minibus and leave the city lights behind as you head into the Norwegian wilderness. Relax and enjoy the views as your experienced driver leads you in search of clear sky, which your guide will help find using their local knowledge and experience. Your guide will keep you entertained along the way and tell you about life in the Arctic.
Once your hosts have found a scenic spot, they will set up a Norwegian basecamp including a fire pit and reindeer furs to keep you warm and provide thermal suits too. Your guide will serve hot beverages, a tasty meal made with local ingredients from our favourite restaurant, and a sweet treat to finish. With reusable mugs, wooden stirring sticks, plastic free food packaging and a fire pit, we make sure that the only footprints we leave behind us are in the snow!
We search the polar sky for the Northern Lights and capture them in photos- which we will be sure to share with you. We offer photography tips and limited use of tripods. If the dancing lady does not appear, or the weather conditions change, we may need to move on and continue the chase! We will return you to Tromsø at about 1am (01:00), depending on driving distance.
