Experience the magic northern lights from the horseback.
Hov is on the outside of Lofoten facing north, with almost no light pollution and no mountains that are blocking the view. All this makes it one of the best spots to see the Northern Lights in Lofoten. From the end of September until April we offer horseback rides in late evening where we also hope to see the northern lights.
The tour starts on a lighted riding arena where you can get to know your horse before you ride into the night. When we are back from the tour you can try to ride in faster tempo in tølt (and trot) on this arean. Tølt is the gate that have made the Icelandic horse so famous.
We ride on the white beaches, ride past ancient remnants from the Viking Age and visit a small fishing village. The ride will be in slow tempo and without daylight. The price includes a warm drink, strong headlights and warm riding gloves. The prices also include free use of riding boots, helmets and outer garments.
The tours can be cancelled due to bad weather conditions, we put safety first. In the event of unfavourable weather conditions, the tour will be re-booked to another time or day to suit you. Please bring warm clothes and read our terms and conditions on: https://hovgard.no/rideturer/terms/
When: September – April. Start at 22:00
Who: Beginners and experienced riders, individuals or groups
Price: NOK 1090, - per / pers. Min. 2 participants.

Before the ride we recomend you to enjpy a great meal at the new Restaurant Låven at Hov Gård: https://hovgard.no/en/laven-at-hov/
