Northern Norwegian experience at Angell Farm
Just 15 minutes from Narvik city center, you will find the idyllic Angell Gjestegård, a gem where Northern Norwegian culture, traditions, and authentic farm life come together. Here, a warm welcome awaits you, where you can get to know the farm’s horses and meet the animals that make the farm lively and charming.
The evening begins in our traditional Sami lavvu, where you can warm yourself by the fire and enjoy campfire coffee along with a taste of authentic Northern Norwegian cuisine. Here, we serve hearty stew made from fresh ingredients sourced from a neighboring farm. While you eat, you’ll hear engaging stories about life on the farm and gain fascinating insights into Northern Norwegian traditions passed down through generations.
In the lavvu, you will also meet the local Sami shaman, Tone. With her wisdom, she shares stories of our traditions that date back centuries. Through a powerful drum ceremony, she creates a unique atmosphere that will both captivate and move you.
After the drum journey, the experience continues with a visit to the farm’s four-legged and feathered residents. The majestic horses in the stable eagerly await your visit, while the energetic dogs love attention and affection. The farm is also home to lively hens, adding an extra touch of charm—perhaps we’ll even find a freshly laid egg!
To end the evening, a magical sleigh ride under the Arctic sky awaits. The beautiful horse, Stjerna, will pull you through the snow-covered landscape, offering a cozy atmosphere and a glimpse of local life. Wool blankets and sheepskins will keep you warm in the sleigh, but dressing appropriately for this unforgettable experience is highly recommended.

Recommendations: Clothing, shoes, mittens, and a hat suitable for temperatures down to -10°C. Warm sheepskins and wool blankets will be provided during the sleigh ride.
