Norwegian Culture Centre at Stor-Elvdal Hotel shows the Norwegian cultural heritage through art, literature, music, food and drink.
At the centre you will find a farm with many historical buildings, such as Barfrøstua - which is a protected farm building originating from Østerdalen around the year 1800. In the library you can see the works of many of Norway's greatest authors such as Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson, Henrik Wergeland and Johan Sverdrup.
In the so-called Hekto-house the museum "Fra vuggen i Sogn til Østerdalens rike" can be found. The title can be translated as "from the cradle in Sogn to the world of Østerdalen". Here there is an art gallery with paintings from the era of the romantic nationalism.
