Norwegian Fjord Centre - World Heritage Visitor Centre Geirangerfjorden

Learn about the west Norwegian fjord landscape, listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, at the Norwegian Fjord Centre in Geiranger.
The Norwegian Fjord Centre is the visitor and communication centre for the Geirangerfjord World Heritage Area. The exhibitions show you the exciting and distinctive fjord landscape that was granted World Heritage status by UNESCO in 2005.
Through exhibitions and interactive stations, you can learn about how the fjord landscape came to be and about the area’s animals, flora, and fauna. Experience the entire World Heritage Area indoors and comfortably from the cinema seat!
Activity RoomIn the activity room Fjordheimen, the children may get to know Gaute Gneiss and his friends. Here, you will meet the glaciers, the rivers, and the rocks like funny creatures: Gaute Gneis shows you all his beautiful rock friends, and you can crawl into the belly of Mother Mantle and hear her talk about how the fjord landscape came to be. This is not just an exhibition, it is most of all an activity room where children can research, play, wonder and maybe learn something new. Here, nature itself tells the stories!
CaféAt the visitor centre, you will also find a cosy café with delicious snacks and a shop with focus on sustainable Norwegian products.
