Overview
Details

Start: Near the mouth of Onarheimsvatnet lake towards Onarheimselva river along the Fv79 road. Information board. Signposted and waymarked according to the national standard. The local name for this place is Nyabruo. Parking: Start on the municipal road, 200 metres to the barrier.. Ascent: 110–297 metres. Total time: 4 km there and back, 1 hour up. Good Advice: Light footwear. Good walk with a pram/buggy. Description of walk: Start on the municipal road to the barrier, where there is parking. The forest road ascends fairly steeply, then less steeply for 500 m until the terrain flattens out at the road junction 253 m above sea level. Turn left towards Blåbærhaugen where the road winds up to the top. Beautiful views of the Onarheimsfjord, Hardanger fjord, Flornes, the mountains of Kvinnherad and the Folgefonna glacier, south to Sunnhordland and north-west to Stord/Fitjar. Picnic spot and visitors' book. At the first road junction at 253 m above sea level, there is a detour to the right, 700 m to Lynarhaug, at 287 m above sea level. Picnic area. There is a short detour to the right before the final ascent to Blåbærhaugen. This is a new walk that became accessible when the landowner built a forest road in the area. A walk that is possible to do all year around. The path is easy to walk on.
