Oldedalen is a south facing valley, and rural community located in the inner part of the Nordfjord region, south of Olden in Stryn municipality. Central to the valley is Lake Oldevatnet, and Oldenelva River which flows through the valley and into the Nordfjord. The valley is an agricultural village.
Oldedalen is surrounded by the Jostedalsbreen (glacier) National Park. The famous Briksdalbreen Glacier is located in the side valley Briksdalen. Other glaciers are Brenndalsbreen in the side valley Brenndalen, and Melkevoll glacier that lies at the end of the main valley.

In Oldedalen lies also Hansa brewery's bottling plant for "Olden" glacier water.
Oldedalen has a good basis for agriculture. At the end of the valley you will find the farms Gytri, Yri, Rustøen, Mykløen, Høgalmen, Myklebust, Melkevoll, Briksdal, Aabrekk, Tungøen, Åberg and Kvamme.
