Trongedalsnuten is the highest mountain top in Åmli, 929 metres above sea level. The trip to this mountain is demanding, and is regarded as a day trip with 6 kms one way. It is one of 13 marked hiking trails to mountain tops in Åmli, and a free brochure with all necessary information can be obtained at the tourist office.

To find the starting point, drive to Gjøvdal, approximately 3O kms from Åmli centre, towards Smelandsfjella. Parking can be done along the main road by the information board for Trongedalsnuten
and along the side road that crosses the river. When there is no snow on the ground, you may park at the end of this side road. Please do not park your vehicle in such a way that it obstructs
other traffic. Please note that during heavy rain, water may
flood the brick bridge in merely a few hours.

Follow the blue marks from the end of the side road and up the
mountain. Parts of this trail may be slippery during heavy rain. After a while, the trail splits into two alternative routes to the top. See the map on the information board before departure.
