OPERAFEST RØYKENVIK
Operafest Røykenvik is an annual festival for opera and vocal art at an international level. The main stage, Halvdan Svarte, is located in Røykenvik by Randsfjorden, and is the beating heart of the festival. In addition, there are various concerts and events at other locations, held in collaboration with cultural institutions and enterprises in the region.
The main stage sits on the water in Randsfjorden, and the audience enjoys panoramic views of Hadeland’s beautiful scenery as they listen to vocal art performed by international artists accompanied by an orchestra. Operafest is a 4-day event with a broad programme.

As part of Operafest Røykenvik, there are also various concerts and events at other locations, held in collaboration with cultural institutions and enterprises in the region. Sunrise concert at Lygna, pop-up concert at the Kistefos museum, intimate concert at Glasslåven, Opera Gourmet at Hemlaga at Næs in Røykenvik, and a children's music festival at Hadeland Folk Museum are just some of the treats on offer.
Operafest Røykenvik was held for the first time in 2018 – with great success and at full capacity. A driving force behind the event is the Hadeland-local Eli Kristin Hanssveen, who is an opera singer and soloist at the Norwegian Opera & Ballet. The best of opera meets the best of Hadeland!
