Explore this almost hidden valley at the end of the lake Ørsdalsvatnet, which was not connected by road until the 1970s. The valley is a great starting point for several spectacular tours.
From Ørsdalen you can, among other things, reach the trekking association's cabin on Kvitlen, summit hikes to mountain tops Bjordalstolen or Mjåvassknuten and continue on old working roads to the valleys of Hunnedalen or Sirdal, go on guided tours through old mines or take a boat trip with the beautiful boat M/K Ørsdølen on the lake Ørsdalsvatnet.
Mining tour or boat trip on Ørsdalsvatnet
From the turn of the century and for periods until after the Second World War, there was mining in Ørsdalen. One of the old mines in the valley has been renovated and secured. You can contact the Bjerkreim municipality to explore a guided tour of the mine. Guided tours are furthermore organised on Sundays in July and August.
