Hiking in the woods for experienced hikers

Discover Norway’s green and lush forest. On this hiking tour you can explore Lillomarka’s nature, and perhaps even encounter some forest animals.

Experience a hike in the real Norwegian forest. This is a challenging hike, and you need to be an experienced hiker.

The trip starts outside Oslo Visitor Centre at Jernbanetorget in Oslo city centre.

You will then take the Vy train to Movatn. The group will hike along broad and small patches into the Northern Forest in Oslo. In this part of the forest, you may find animals such as foxes, beavers, moose, deer, eagles, hares and many others! They are all harmless, but this is still a great opportunity to see the wild Nordic nature for yourself.

There will be two breaks at a «hytte», the Sinober cottage and the Lilloseter cottage. They serve great coffee and fresh pastry. At the end of the hike you will end up at Grefsenkollen, which has an amazing view of the city. Here you can reward yourself with a glass of white wine or a refreshing beer. The hike ends at a bus stop nearby, before you then take the bus or tram back to Jernbanetorget.

Duration: 6 hours including public transportation. The walking distance is 15 kilometers.
Level of difficulty: Some hiking experience required. Backpack with food and water, hiking shoes or similar needed.
