Packrafting to Coles Bay is a trip for those who want to go out for a real adventure in Svalbard. This tour is 12 hours long, and is a step up from our Adventdalen tours.

Packrafting to Coles Bay is a trip for those who want to go out for a real adventure in Svalbard. This tour is 12 hours long, and is a step up from our Adventdalen tours.

Packrafting is a great way to discover Svalbard's nature. The inflatable kayaks are easy to transport and can be used in many various elements of water.
Coles Bay is an old Russian mining settlement. The town was the harbour for shipping coal from the town Grumant, and the buildings are still standing. When we get to Coles Bay we'll be able to go inside one of the houses and read a newspaper from the early 60’s.

About the tour:
The guide picks you up at 08:00 in the morning, and will transport you to the end of the road in Endalen. From there you head along the valley to the pass, where Fardalen meets Endalen (dalen = valley). This hike is 7,5 km long. After a good lunch break at the pass, we start rafting down the 22 km long river in Fardalen and Colesdalen.

After dinner and guide stories in Coles Bay, we head back to Longyearbyen by RIB. The last part of the trip is absolutely stunning, as we pass along both Grumant and Fuglefjella (the bird cliffs) by boat.

Good physical fitness is required to complete this trip. You must expect to carry 15 kg on your back. It is required that you have a backpack that holds a minimum of 50 litres.

Included in the price:
- Packraft, pick up and drop off at the hotel, guide with safety equipment, lunch and dinner, SAR insurance, life jackets and wetsuits and RIB transport.

Note! This trip can be made into a 2-day trip. For inquiries for 2-day trip, please contact us by mail.
