Packrafting with Kayak Voss

Packrafts are very easy to learn and lots of fun!!

Packrafts are single person inflatable crafts that can weigh as little as 2kg and can fit in a backpack. This opens up lots of possibilities for adventures. Packrafts are very stable on the river and easy to learn. Kayak Voss’ Packrafting trip is a perfect introduction to the exciting world of packrafting. This fun trip allows you to explore, experiment and progress at your own pace. The section of river we will take you on offers flat water, calm current, small waves, a variety of rapids and even a waterfall if you are feeling brave enough. This trip is run by highly qualified and experienced instructors who will ensure your safety and wellbeing at all times and is suitable and a guaranteed good time for everyone.

We will meet you in town where you can follow us to the river. Here we will get changed and get you familiar with all the equipment. Once in the water we can practice getting in and out of the kayak, capsizing and swimming ensuring you are comfortable in the water and in your kayak. We will work on some basic paddle skills, safety and river running techniques, so you are able to use the time on the river as you wish.

Kayak Voss will provide all the kayaking equipment for this trip. You must bring with you the following:
• Woolen thermals for under the wetsuit
• Shoes that can get wet
• A change of dry clothing
• Water
• Sunscreen
