"Peace is a Promise of the Future"
The sculpture "Peace is a Promise of the Future," created by sculptor Håkon Anton Fagerås from Bø in Telemark, was unveiled on August 6, 2006, exactly 60 years after the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima by the United States.
The sculpture is designed to be easy to interpret, with a forward-looking expression that symbolizes Northern Norwegian optimism. By appealing to children, it represents playfulness, future life, and resilience, while also connecting to the message from Hiroshima.
