Piazza Italia
Authentic Italian food at Frogner in Oslo
Italian restaurant at Frogner in Oslo. Piazza Italia is the sister restaurant to the Via Italia pasta bar in Mathallen, and is a pleasant meeting place for neighbours, friends and anyone who is fond of Italian food and drink culture.
The dishes are based on old, traditional recipes – mainly from the Lazio region around Rome. With passion for high-quality ingredients and authentic Italian cooking, this is the place for a pleasant and rustic Italian dining experience.
The cured meats are supplied by the award-winning Serpepe farm, which is famous for the original Cinta Senese pig breed. Other meats are provided by Gudbrandsdalen Annis, and seafood is supplied by the Salmon & Wildlife Centre. Throughout the year, Piazza Italia also offers cured cod products from Røst.
Piazza Italia's predecessor Casa Matta was previously named one of the two best restaurants in Europe outside of Italy with the best Brunello wine list, and Piazza Italia has taken over the wine cellar with over 200 different wines. The wine comes from Bella Toscana, which imports directly from all over Italy. The beer comes from Birra Moretti, one of the most renowned breweries in Italy.
