An unforgettable snowmobile safari at Camp Tamok, only a 90min scenic bus drive from Tromsø. Experience the magical winter landscape while snowmobiling.
This tour is conducted by Camp Tamok & Ice Domes.
If you are really lucky the Northern Lights will be dancing above you all evening! Even though this tour is not focused on hunting the green lights, but it gives a great chance to be a part of the Aurora performance in the night sky.
Upon arrival, you will be provided with warm clothes and boots for the evening. After this, we will go through our safety instructions and give you a practical demonstration on how to drive a snowmobile.
You will be driving in pairs, one driver and one passenger on each snowmobile, with the opportunity to switch places during the trip. The tour will bring you past scenic mountains, through the snow-covered Finn valley, starting at 250m above sea level. You will be on this snowmobiling adventure for approximately 2 hours, depending on the weather and snow conditions.
Even though this tour is not focused on hunting the Northern Lights, being outside on a dark winter evening might give a wonderful opportunity to witness the lights while going out on this adventure. We will be able to make (photo) stops along the way if the Northern Lights appear. After driving back down the trail and parking the snowmobiles, we will serve you a hot meal in a traditional North Norwegian setting around the open fire in a reindeer herder’s tent.
After relaxing and warming up, it is time to head back to Tromsø and tick another adventure off your bucket list!
