PORTÅSEN – WILDENVEY COUNTRY
A centre of poetry

Portåsen is a hub of creativity in the field of poetry, and aims to be a national meeting place for poets and artists. We work actively and with courage to become visible promoters of poetry. We wish to stimulate reading and writing.

Activities at Portåsen
There is plenty to do at Portåsen, and we have many arenas for our events and celebrations.

Sørines cafe and poetry library
Sørines cafe in the main building tempts visitors with both traditional and modern dishes. The cafe is open every Sunday from 11.00–17.00 except in July where Portåsen is closed. There is also an open air cafe in the grounds. The poetry library is in the main building.

Concerts
Our open air amphi-theatre seats up to 500 spectators. It is a great venue for big performances. We arrange concerts and readings in the summer. Check out our online cultural calendar and find an event that suits you. In winter, we hold concerts in the Høyloftet building.

Poetry for big and small
We hold readings and poetry nights throughout the year. We also organise activities aimed at youths. Visit our home page to keep up to date on various activities and exhibitions.

"Låven" – the old barn – houses changing exhibitions, with special themes, pictures and much more.

Group visits
Set aside a day to spend time with family, friends or colleagues. Organise a family get-together or a company outing to Wildenwey country, and give everyone a unique experience in creative and stimulating surroundings. Contact us for a good offer.
