The busy summer season is around the corner, but visitor numbers are still low. Grab this chance to beat the crowds and enjoy Preikestolen and the Lysefjord in the silence of the spring.
Starting early, we hike from spring at the start of the hike to maybe a little winter at the top. This early in the year, conditions are changing constantly. We adjust the use of spikes to possible snow and ice conditions. Your guide will lead you through the white and fresh green landscape, all the way up to the mountain plateau. After 2.5 – 3.5 hours of good exercise, you will be rewarded with one of the most dramatic landscapes Fjord-Norway has to offer. Standing on the 604-meter-high cliff, the views on the Lysefjord are just awing. And you will be one of the few that came her in the off-season.
On the way down, we will, if conditions allow, follow a bit different route, which is not on the maps, avoiding any people that will hike up later on the day. We conclude our hike by enjoying the off-season silence with a well deserved nice cup of soup and bread at the cozy Preikestolen Mountain Lodge. After this nice ‘after-hike’ with you fellow hikers, enjoying the views over the Refsvatn Lake, we return to Stavanger.
Departure (Stavanger): approx. 7am, return in Stavanger: approx. 5.30pm.
