Rafossen is a waterfall located seven kilometres from Kvinesdal town centre. It is a powerful waterfall with a 42 metre drop.
From Kvinesdal, follow county road 465 north until you see signs for Rafossen.
In 2022, a new hydropower plant opened, featuring a salmon ladder and a footbridge across the waterfall. The salmon ladder runs through a tunnel from the top of the falls, and the power station includes a salmon viewing area. Guided tours may be arranged through Sira Kvina’s main office in Tonstad. A short walk takes you to the bridge above the falls, where you can watch the water rushing down.
Nearby, you will find a large rock area that is ideal for picnics and fishing.
Please note:
Parking is available at a marked parking area near the junction.
Parking is also possible at Rafoss Kindergarten, but not during opening hours between 06:45 and 16:30. Outside these hours, the area may be used. Please be considerate. From here, it is just a short walk to Rafossen.
