The three abandoned farmsteads of Ramsfjell are situated at 420 m.o.s.l. The farmsteads were quite large, and each had its own crofts, but the terrain is steep and the substrate rocky. The last farmer moved out in 1955.
Ramsfjell offers a magnificent panorama of the Jøsenfjord, surrounding heathlands and mountains. The steep and narrow path passes up through lush forest with uncommon plant species like ramson and wild orchids.
