Fjælutjernet in Toten Almenning lodd.5:
Fjælutjernet is a small forest tarn in the eastern part of Totenåsen with access via a forest road from Fjellhaug
Totenvika. You can drive all the way to the tarn.
Fjælutjernet is home to stocks of good-sized trout (250-600 grammes), in addition to small perch. There are plenty of insects at the tarn, making it suitable for fly fishing all summer, also from a boat. During insect-hatching periods, dry fly fishing can yield huge catches. "Catch and Release" is recommended, as this is a small tarn with limited stocks of big fish. I have once seen a 54-cm trout here. It was caught using a large trap, released and still lives in the tarn.
Basic cabin for hire through the hunting and fishing association Totenviken JFF: 6 beds, solar power, gas-powered cooker, fridge, boat, own well with pump, NOK 150 per person per night.
Boat hire without cabin can also be booked with Totenviken JFF. If you are looking for some small-perch action, then ice fishing on Fjælutjernet is a good alternative.
Store Fiskelausen i Toten Almenning lodd 4 og 5:
Store Fiskelausen is a forest lake accessible from Lortdalen (exit from Øvre Torsætervei) or Fiskelaussetra (follow Nyhusvegen from Skjeppsjøen guest house). 10-15 minutes' walk from the car park.
Here you will find perch (which can grow big) and pike. This is definitely the best lake in Totenåsen for catching large perch. Fishing from land with soft baits, small wobblers and spinners or bait. The biggest perch, over 1 kilo, hunt in the pelagic zone, particularly around three underwater rocks. You need a boat to access this part of the lake.
You can catch pike of 1-6 kilos with soft baits, jerk and bait, and even with fly early in the season. It is a good idea to release pike and big perch. Small perch can be culled.
Store Fiskelausen also offers good ice fishing. (mormyshka and pirk + ice bait).
Store Øyungen i Toten Almenning lodd 4:
Store Øyungen is ideal for fly fishing for trout of up to 2 kilos. Catches of half a kilo are common, but 1-kilo trout are not unusual. Particularly well suited for fly fishing, although spinners and bait are good alternatives. Store Øyungen also has perch, but they are small.
Access from Øvre Torsætervei. The lake is beside the road.

Hommelsjøen in Toten Almenning lodd.4:
Hommelsjøen is an excellent lake for fly fishing for trout. Spinners/bait are good alternatives. Varying sizes, with trout of more than two kilos. Large fish are added to the lake every year to boost the natural growth in stocks.
The lake also has good stocks of char. Although most are quite small, you can also catch good-sized fish. Lots of small perch.
Access from Øvre Torsætervei. You can drive all the way in the summer, while in the winter the lake is a five-minute walk from the car park.
