At RiverNorth, there’s room for both families and adventurers – whether you’re travelling with a motorhome, tent or hammock, just passing through or exploring the area.
RiverNorth Camping is beautifully located right by the Auster-Vefsna river, just a few hundred metres from the centre of Trofors. There is plenty of space for tents, motorhomes, lavvus and hammocks, with direct access to the river for swimming and fishing in season. The campsite has several fire pits, as well as a shared, covered cooking and dining area with tables and benches. Guests must bring their own gas stove and cooking equipment.
For children, there is a trampoline, and in 2026 a pump track and zipline are planned. The campsite also has a simple service building with toilets and hot showers. Right next door is Grane Bygdetun, a local heritage site with well-preserved historic buildings and a pleasant picnic area by the river.
Glamping:
The campsite offers two lavvus and one gamme converted into glamping accommodation. The largest lavvu is a family lavvu with one double bed and two single beds. The smaller lavvu has one double bed, and the gamme also has a double bed. All units come with made-up beds and towels included.
Tents:
Tents can be pitched anywhere near the covered communal area. There are a few power outlets in the shared lavvu for charging phones and cameras (at your own risk).
Guests are asked to use the shared facilities rather than setting up separate mini-camps around the site.
