Røisheim is a historic hotel at the foot of Galdhøpiggen, with roots dating back to 1858. Here, peace, history, and culture meet the beautiful mountain landscape—in a unique setting with protected log buildings, great dining experiences, and proximity to Jotunheimen. A perfect starting point for memorable mountain hikes.

At the foot of Galdhøpiggen lies the hotel that quality-conscious mountain people and travelers have been visiting to experience Norway’s mountain wilderness. Since 1858, Røisheim has been a coaching inn for travelers between east and west. For centuries, renowned explorers, authors, painters, and royals have made their way here, where peace and history meet Norway’s highest mountain.

The courtyard at Røisheim consists of 14 free-standing, protected timber houses from the 18th century, divided into 26 unique rooms. The cultural heritage in these protected houses is preserved through careful maintenance in cooperation with the Directorate for Cultural Heritage.

Røisheim has long traditions of welcoming peak climbers, art enthusiasts, and those seeking historical tranquility, atmosphere, and culinary experiences.

Experience the beautiful Norwegian mountain wilderness in a historic setting that creates memories for a lifetime.
The hotel is open from May to September each year.
