The Rullestadjuvet Gorge is a dramatic and beautiful part of the Åkrafjord area which is well worth a visit. It is accessable by car and/or by foot. The old E134 traverses through the Gorge and is open for traffic (not during the wintertime). Along the other side of the river you can follow the old Post Road that dates from the 1800s by foot.
At top of the Gorge the landscape is dramatic with steep mountain sides where huge potholes are hidden. Further below, the terrain is gentler and the view of nearby farms and shimmering Lake Rullestadvatnet is very enjoyable.
Follow the road-signs Rullestadjuvet and Postvegen. (See also Activities; Postvegen).
