Salmon Center Senja - Learn about norwegian aquaculture

What technology does the industry use? What is a smolt and what does salmon feed actually smell like? At our viewing center you will get the answer. We guide our visitors through our exhibition and provide a broad introduction to the Norwegian aquaculture industry.

Among other things, you will see how SalMar feeds the salmon remotely using high-tech solutions, as well as explore how genetics can be used as a tool to breed healthy and good food fish.

We also offer a fast-paced RIB trip out to a seaside location. Here you can see with your own eyes what the life of the salmon in the sea phase is like.

If you want a guided tour of the centre, hatchery, slaughterhouse, feed center or sea location, you can go to our booking pages to book this. All activities take place in good company with our knowledgeable guides.

All equipment needed is available for loan. Transport to/from Finnsnes - to the localities.

The experience takes about 4 hours from start to finish.
