On a salmon safari with Mo Laksegard in Sand, Ryfylke, you'll float down the Suldalslågen river in a dry suit while seeing wild salmon and sea trout up close underwater.
Salmon Safari is a popular activity arranged by Mo Laksegard every Wednesdays and Saturdays in the summer season. At first you get a short course from qualified guides in the swimming pool at Mo Laksegard. Here you learn about safe behavior and how to move in a dry suit in the river stream in Suldalslågen. One guide is in the water with you in the river, while the second guide follow you in a canoe.
The current takes you down around 2.5 km, and while you are floating you look for fish through the diving mask. Suldalslågen is known for large salmon over 20 kg. Swimming with salmon and trout in their habitat and studying them up close is an experience you will never forget.
Mo Laksegard provides a dry suit, diving mask and snorkel. In winter, Mo Laksegard provides extra warm clothing. You must have a T-shirt and shorts under the suit. You must be able to swim and not have epilepsy, or other illnesses caused by cold or stress
.
When: Every Wednesdays and Saturdays at 1 pm from the middle of June until the middle of September.
It is also possible to arrange the activity outside these days for pre-booked groups of at least 6 contestants (April - November).
Duration: 2.5 hours including safety training. Travel time is not included.
