Sami Northern Lights Storytelling
Meet a local Sámi before your Northern Lights tour and learn who we are – and our connection to the Northern Lights.
“When we were little kids, we were really afraid of the Northern Lights. The elders in our communities told us never to ‘tease’ the Northern Lights, because it could come and take your soul away.”
In this storytelling session, you will learn who we are, how we have survived under the Northern Lights for hundreds of years, and how we use nature and the Northern Lights to protect our children. You will meet a local Sámi storyteller who will share personal stories through music, traditional Sámi clothing, and pictures.
This session is a perfect add-on before you embark on a Northern Lights tour. The event takes place in the Sky Bar at Clarion Hotel The Edge.
Our goal is to share our personal stories and connection to the magnificent Northern Lights, helping you feel more connected to them. We hope this session will enhance your experience under the Northern Lights and make your night in the cold even more magical.
