Sandbekken in Tysvær

Sandbekken is a popular outdoor area with a small sandy beach in fresh water. There is a leanto and picnic area located at the beach. On the village yard by the «Cleng Peerson house» there are many historical buildings.
The farmhouse was in operation until the 1960s. The "Cleng Peerson House" was moved from Hesthammer in 1975 in connection with the 150th anniversary of the emigration to America. Cleng Peerson, who led the first group of Quakers who sailed from Stavanger with "Restauration" in 1824, grew up on Hesthammer. Bua (the storage cage) has been moved from Mo i Etne. Bua is the oldest building that belongs to the Karmsund Folk Museum.
