Sandefjord church is locaded right in the midle of the town centre and is well known for its music program.
The original church was a small white church built in 1872 which was destroyed in the big town-fire in 1900. The present church was erected in 1903. The altarpiece created by Norwegian artist Dagfin Werenskiold, was donated to the church
in 1963.
Sandefjord Church has one of the country's best organs (Marcussen). The church is famous for the great acoustic sound, and it hosts several church-concerts both in daytime and in the evenings. For a complete overview go to Events, or check out
the church's own webpage www.misk.no
The bells in Sandefjord Church are controlled by a computer, and they are of international standard. You can hear them every hour during daytime.
The church is only open in connection with the church's own duties and other announced events. For guided tours, please contact Visit Sandefjord.
