Here, you can shop at one of the Nordic region’s largest shopping centres (Thon Senter Sandvika), enjoy good food and drink at one of the city’s many eateries, experience music, dance and theatre at Bærum Kulturhus, Sandvika Theatre, Lille Scene, Musikkflekken or Bakgården on Sandvika’s east side. he city is situated byf the Oslo fjord, with the opportunity to visit the nearby islands with a trip on the Rigmor and Rigfar ferries.
Sandvika has several historical sites of interest, such as Malmskrivergården farm, the buildings around the port of Løkkehaven, and the old Løkke bridge from 1829, which French artist Claude Monet painted in 1895. Every year, city festivals are held on the last weekend in August, and a Christmas market is held early in December. Sandvika is also a transport hub for buses, trains and taxis, and the E16 and E18 roads makes for an easy access from both east, west and the north.
