July 14 - July 21, 2019 - 8 days - NOK 12.800 Welcome to our action packed sailing adventure from the magical Træna Island to the Alpine Lofoten archipelago. This trip is designed for those who want to experience both Helgeland’s thousands of islands, islets and reefs and Lofoten’s soaring peaks and crystal clear water.
The adventure starts on the magical island of Træna, where you also in advance of the trip may participate in the annual music festival. From there on we sail north crossing the Arctic Circle, towards the highest peaks and glaciers of the area.
You'll have the option to hike the Black Glacier, or hike to the top of highest mountain of the region. We then head back out to the archipelago of islands and find a new bay for the night. But the relaxation doesn’t last long. Next up is a crossing of the mythical West Fjord. A stretch of water famed for the heroic fishermen who would risk their lives to catch cod in all weather in the middle of the Arctic winter. At the far side of the West Fjord we'll bunk at Reine, which sits in the shelter of the majestic Lofoten Skyline.
In Lofoten we'll hike and climb the mountains, sail inbetween, and experience the local culture and cuisine. You may also surf the crystal clear and chill arctic water on the north side of Lofoten. The adventure ends with a regatta to and a concluding party at Henningsvær; the epicenter of ocean fishing, whale watching and extreme sports in the Lofoten. As with all our trips, you can learn to sail, experience and overcome challenges and make great friends for life.

This is a sailing trip possible to do for most travellers! Sailing-wise the trip is not particularly difficult, but you must be prepared for both wind and sailing in rough weather. Are you a beginner, we want to turn you into a sailor as quickly as possible and if you're experienced you'll get challenges and responsibilities on your level.
How to travel to Træna? We recommend our participants to travel as green as possible. To go by bike is such the most rewarding, however taking the train or going many in a car is also good. The train goes from Oslo to Mosjøen, from where you may take the bus to Sandnessjøen or Stokkvågen. And from there a boat. For train-timetables and prices see www.nsb.no. For buses see the public travelplanner www.177nordland.no.
You may of course also fly, most people do that. You then fly to either Sandnessjøen or Bodø, for flights see www.wideroe.no or www.norwegian.no .
If you have time you should also consider starting the trip with a leg on the coastal express Hurtigruten which departs daily early morning from Bodø and arrive Sandnessjøen in the day.
How do I get back from Henningsvær and Lofoten? Home from Lofoten most logistics go via Svolvær. Buses goes between Henningsvær and Svolvær. From Svolvær you may fly, or take the boat over to Bodø and travel further from there. Hurtigruten also has daily departes both southbound and northbound from Svolvær. We recommend anyway to dwell some extra days in Henningsvær and Lofoten after the trip, the area has a lot to offer.
Changes in the program
This program is a rough outline program as an ambition for the week. As we sail along we will adapt to weather conditions and there might be changes in the program. The aim however remains the same; to have the most amazing week possible. And with us under way we always have dinghies for beaching and small expeditions, we have fishing gear for the cod, and ashore there is often wood for the bondfire - we are ready to flex the program and adventure together!
