Are you interested in untouched nature, coastal culture or animal and bird life? Join us for an exciting Wildlife Sea Safari - a unique combination of the sea and history.
Our tour is a great opportunity to experience one of the biggest active fishing villages – Ballstad, where cod liver oil is still produced. You will find here also many traditional fishermen’s cottages standing on stilts as well as the largest mural in Northern Europe on the boatyard walls.
Following the inner coast we visit Nusfjord, which in 1975 become one of three pilot projects aimed at conserving Norway's building heritage. On our way to the outer coast you will be told stories about the Storbatshallaren cave – the oldest settelment from the Stone Age found in Lofoten and Vesteralen. Further, passing the Nappstraumen, you are invited to encounter sea eagles. Our jorney will return in Houkland - a 2 km long beach which has the shape of a half moon. White sand, shimmering turquoise water and a black frame of surrounding cliffs make an unforgettable view that concludes this unique excursion.
All participants are provided with warm, waterproof survival suits but we recommend also to bring gloves and a cap. Please do not forget to wear comfortable shoes.
The tour will run with a minimum of 6 persons.
Can be cancelled due to weather conditions.
