Senja Fjordhotell

Senja Fjordhotell has an idyllic location in Frovåghamn at the southern tip of the beautiful island of Senja in Northern Norway. At Senja Fjordhotell we offer a personal hospitality and we like to do our uttermost to make our guests enjoy their stay.

The hotel was inaugurated in June 2018 and today the hotel is offering 17 rooms. Our sister company, Frovåg Havfiske, offers another 39 beds in six different Fisherman’s cottages and apartments. All our rooms have fjord and mountain views.

We are proud of our restaurant that cooks from scratch. We specialize in fish, caught by us, or bought from the local fishermen. We also prepare dishes using seasonal and local ingredients like meat of lamb, moose and goat as well as potatoes and herbs.

We will gladly heat up our sauna which is located right on the quay with stairs down to the sea for a refreshing bath.
It is a short way from the hotel to the good fishing spots in the area especially known for good halibut fishing. We offer rental of boats for fishing or relaxation in our beautiful coastal line. It is also possible to rent a larger boat with a skipper for an unforgettable sea safari to the beautiful southern part of the island.

Our hotel is located on the lush side of the island famous for its rich animal and bird life. Attractions in this area include several museums, a World War II fort, and beautiful sandy beaches. Near the hotel we have several hiking trails, ranging from easy to advance. We offer snowshoe rental in the winter and bike rental in the summer. In collaboration with our partners, we can also offer activities such as dog sledding, guided hiking, kayaking or biking tours.

The hotel is less than one-hour drive from Finnsnes where the speedboat from Tromsø & Harstad is mooring. It takes three hours by car from Tromsø, one and a half an hour from Bardufoss. Several days a week the speedboat from Harstad is docking at Skrolsvik and from there you can take the local bus, or we can help you with other means of transport the 20 minutes it takes to get to the hotel. At the hotel it is plenty of space to park your car and we have a nice guest harbour for guests arriving by their own boats.
