Join a silent whale-watching cruise from Tromsø aboard a hybrid-electric vessel, searching for orcas, humpback whales and other Arctic wildlife.

This tour is operated by Brim Explorer.

Depart from Tromsø on a full-day whale-watching cruise aboard a purpose-built hybrid-electric vessel. The tour takes you towards the whales’ feeding grounds through fjords, past snow-covered mountains and across Arctic waters.

The destination depends on the location of the whales and may vary throughout the season. The captain and guides use their experience and knowledge of whale behaviour to search for signs of activity. During the journey, the guides share information about whale migration and feeding, along with stories about Arctic nature, history and coastal culture.

You may encounter orcas, humpback whales, fin whales or other marine wildlife. Whales are wild animals, and sightings cannot be guaranteed.

When whales are located, the vessel switches to its electric motor to reduce noise and vibration. The crew follows responsible whale-watching practices, maintaining a respectful distance and allowing the whales to move and feed without being chased or disturbed. Approximately 10% of the cruise is normally completed using the electric motor, although this depends on the whales’ location and the conditions on the day.

You can enjoy the Arctic scenery from the warm indoor lounges with panoramic windows or the spacious outdoor viewing decks. Food and drinks can be purchased from the café and fully licensed bar on board.
