Sjømannskirken Narvik
Welcome to the «International Seamen's Center/ Sjømannskirken i Narvik». The International Seamen's Center was completed and opened by «The Church of Sweden Abroad (SKUT» in 1950 because of all the Swedish seafarers and workers who lived and visited the city. From 1970 to 1990, the number of Swedish seafarers fell sharply and in 1997 the church/ building was taken over by a foundation. The purpose of the foundation is; Welfare center for seafarers, meeting place for people coming to Narvik and Cultural center for the municipality's residents.
