Vang

Skakadalskurv

Øygarden is an old family farm, which continues to practice farming traditions originating from the 17th Century. The sheep on the farm are kept on the summer pasture at Skakadalen, Vang, which lies at 1000 meters above sea level. The breed of sheep kept on the farm is the Norwegian White. These sheep only eat fresh, high quality grass for the last seven months before slaughter.

“Skakadalskurv” is produced from the meat of these sheep. “Kurven” (the cured sausage) is frequently used in Norwegian lunches and can be included as an important part of a traditional cured meat platter hamper, also including ham and leg of mutton. Mutton can also be purchased here at the farm.

We are also able to send farm shop products by mail.
