Stay on a sailboat and ski top tours. This is far more than an ordinary ski and sailing trip – this is one of Svalbard's most spectacular ski expeditions!

This is far more than a typical ski-and-sail trip – this is Svalbard’s most spectacular ski expedition! Over the course of one week high above the Arctic Circle, you’ll experience new adventures every day, combining wild Arctic skiing with comfort aboard the sailing yacht Ylva, your floating home during this trip.

You will either go to shore by zodiac or you can start the tour directly from the boat, surrounded by majestic mountains and glaciers. Our guides are passionate about skiing, and together you’ll find the best lines day by day – always with nature in the lead: weather, wind, snow, and ice can change rapidly, and flexibility brings the greatest rewards.

The adventures don’t stop on the mountains: as the boat glides through the ice, you might catch glimpses of whales, walruses, or seals on the way to the next anchorage. The Arctic is raw, wild, and surreal, and the midnight sun lets you ski at any hour – every run feels like a true adventure in an untouched landscape.

Life aboard Ylva

Ylva is a sturdy and elegant two-masted teak ketch, serving as your base camp throughout the expedition. Here, you can unwind after a day outdoors, enjoy delicious meals, and socialize with fellow guests. When it’s time to rest, comfortable cabins with soft bedding await, and you can wake up to views of the sea, mountains, and glaciers. Evenings can be spent sailing, fishing, or relaxing in the hot tub on deck.

Experience and Safety

The expedition is organized in partnership with Eira Expeditions and Svalbard Wildlife Expeditions, with an experienced crew and local ski guides who know Svalbard’s mountains inside out. We share a common vision: to explore the fragile Arctic environment in a gentle, responsible way. We also believe that the best experiences engage the whole person – and the combination of skiing and sailing is the perfect way to do that.
