Ski Touring to Nordenskjoldfjellet - Svalbard Wildlife Expeditions

Join us on an unforgettable ski tour to Nordenskiöld Peak, the highest mountain around Longyearbyen, standing at 1050 meters above sea level.

Before setting off, our experienced guides will review the route and available options. Regardless of the route, the climb provides a strong sense of achievement as we gradually ascend.

Along the way, we’ll take a break to enjoy a warm expedition lunch in the beautiful Arctic wilderness. If weather and conditions are on our side, we may reach the summit, where breathtaking panoramic views await. Here, at the highest point in the area, we’ll be surrounded by Svalbard’s majestic mountains.

The descent brings excitement and adrenaline as we navigate one of the world’s most extreme landscapes. Prepare yourself for a day filled with spectacular views, plenty of altitude gain, and an exhilarating descent. Memories for a lifetime are guaranteed!

Practical Information:
Participants: Minimum 2, maximum 6 per group
Distance to the top: Approx. 6-8 km
Elevation gain: Approx. 950 meters (depending on the route)
Participant Requirements: This tour is challenging, and participants must have experience with off-piste skiing, ideally with ski touring.
Avalanche safety equipment is required on all Svalbard Wildlife Expeditions ski tours.*
