Ringerike – cross-country skiing at Ringkollen



Ringkollen enjoys a beautiful open and elevated setting with cross-country ski trails at around 600 metres above sea level.

With this as your starting point, there is plenty of exciting terrain to explore. Ringkollen is at Krokskogen, but you can easily head east into Nordmarka – or you can keep south down into Krokskogen, perhaps past Løvlia and then further down towards Sørkedalen (alt. via Heggelia), Lommedalen, or Sollihøgda.

Ringkollen is an excellent starting point for cross-country ski trips in Nordmarka and Krokskogen. You can ski for miles, often all by yourself, in an open landscape and through old forests.

How to get there?

Ringkollen is located in Nordmarka. If you are arriving from Hadeland or Oslo, drive to Klækken Hotel and then take route 241 towards Ringkollveien. Continue on Ringkollveien until you reach the large car park or Ringkollstua.

This is a toll road with a barrier on the way up, and NOK 40 is payable either by card or cash.

Alternatively, take the ski-bus service from Oslo and ski back.

• Remember the rules for keeping dogs on a lead; respect campfire bans and restrictions, and use designated sites only

• Drive nicely, but not too nicely – keep up with the traffic
