Skibmannsheia, Lindesnes

Length: 2.3 km

A circular hike to a fantastic destination. Skibmannsheia features a former military cabin (listening station) that has now been adapted for day-trip use. In addition, there are three other buildings on the site: a coastal reporting station, an outdoor toilet, and a viewpoint that has been reconstructed.

For easy access, you can walk on a road all the way to the cabin. There is also a trail leading to the cabin, passing through varied natural surroundings.

Just past Jørgenstad you will find parking and signs marking the trail, which is easy to follow. Sheep graze in the area all year round, so please keep dogs on a leash, close any gates you pass through, and show consideration.

On clear days, you can see from Lista in the west to Mandal in the east, and far north towards the moorlands and mountains.

The oldest building was constructed in connection with neutrality patrols, while the large building served as a radar station during World War II.
