About the Cabin and Location:
Skjækerosstua is situated in the picturesque Skjækra conservation area, overlooking Skjæker Lake (Skjækervatnet) and the imposing Skjækerhatten mountain, with the Blåfjella-Skjækerfjella National Park as its close neighbor. The cabin's strategic location makes it a perfect starting point for a range of activities, from cabin to cabin hiking in Skjækra to more challenging summit hikes like Skjækerhatten.

Fishing and Hiking:
The area around the cabin is a haven for hunting, fishing, and outdoor enthusiasts, with abundant recreational opportunities. The location offers excellent opportunities for hunting, fishing in the nearby lake, and even cloud-berry picking in the marshes. The terrain around the cabin is characterized by gently rolling hills to the west, north, and east, with more challenging terrain to the south. In essence, it's a hiking paradise suitable for most skill levels.

Boat and fishing nets are included in the rental and can be found in the boathouse by Skjækervatnet. When renting the cabin, you have free access to rod and otter fishing on Steinkjer municipality's properties, and you can place up to three fishing nets in Skjækervatnet. Additionally, there's an ice drill available in the cabin for winter fishing.

For those who prefer a shorter hike, a marked path spanning 15 km leads directly to the cabin. Alternatively, you can choose the northern path around Skjækervatnet, covering a distance of 10 km, where you can also rent a motorboat (please note that boat rental requires a separate booking at Mob. No: 92299190).

Directions:
From Steinkjer (City Hall), drive 42 km towards Ogndal along RV 762, following the main road until you reach the large parking area at Krokbekken. From there, you embark on a hike to reach the cabin.

Key Collection:
Keys can be collected at the reception at Steinkjer Town Hall between 0800-1530, or in the evening by appointment.

Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations made will incur a minimum charge of 10% of the rental fee.
Cancellations within 30 days before the rental agreement starts will result in a 25% charge.
Cancellations within 15 days before the rental agreement starts will result in a 50% charge.
Cancellations within 3 days before the rental agreement starts will not be refunded.
