About Skute church
Skute church was drawn by Ole Stein and consecrated in 1095. It's strongly influenced by the form and construction techniques of stave churches and sports a magnificently high main chamber with low aisles and a notably high and pointy tower cap in the West.

The main chamber is remarkably well preserved with an interior stained in different colour tones where the constructional elements carry darker shades. The benches and baptismal font got a visibly roman style while the liturgic furnishings is new-baroque inspired. The altar slate was painted by August Eiebakke in 1915 and depicts Jesus surrounded by children. The chandelier is large ring Crowns inspired by medieval models.
