Welcome to the Sky to Fjord downhill bike tour, a chance for you to see the best highlights that nature has to offer in this spectacular area. Board your motorcoach/minivan at the pier and drive through Geiranger, passing the small octagon church. This scenic drive climbs the steep slopes all the way up to the mountains. On the way up you have a perfect view to the summit of Mount Dalsnibba at 1 500 meters above sea level. The ride up by car and the descent by bike offers panoramic views that includes the village of Geiranger, the fjord with its steep cliff and waterfalls, glacial peaks and the wild Flydal River Valley. At Djupvasshytta Mountain Lodge 1 030 meters above sea level the second part of your adventure awaits you, the Sky to Fjord Downhill Bike Tour! Once we have set you up with your gear and bike, you have the freedom to come down the public road as fast or as slow as you want, the choice is yours. So, stop along the way at our recommended viewpoints, take some photos and enjoy the scenery, or head directly to Geiranger. Either way, enjoy yourself and the beauty of this area!
Duration: 1-2,5 hrs.
Transportation: Motorcoach/minivan(s). Individual return on bike back to Geiranger.
Difficulty level: Easy – downhill with no effort. If you know how to ride a bike you can do it.
Equipment: Bike, helmet, gloves, visibility vest and map pointing out highlights.
Instructions: Downhill braking techniques. Beware of traffic.
Suitable for: All ages. Recommended down to 12 years. Children below 16 years of age should be supervised by adult. Children seats and separate wagons attachable to parent’s bike available.
Other: Warm and/or wind proof jacket recommended.
