The hosts Jon and Gro Aalbu has created an inviting farm open for visitors at Lønset, 18 km west of Oppdal. A farm that conveys culture, not just through everyday life, but through events like themes, courses, and workshops. The farm is open for visitors throughout the summer season and through appointments through the rest of the year.
In the gardens at Småbruket, you can find 130 different herbs used for food, cosmetics or medicine. All the different plants are marked with signs (Norwegian and Latin) with a little useful information about the plant. Expanded serving hours for groups that visit Småbruket with dishes that are based on own production of herbs. A unique experience for both nose and palate. Småbruket is an eco-friendly farm.
The farm store
Here you will find many useful, decorative or tasteful goods, herb-mixtures and farm food with herbs. Local produce, handmade pipes, and candy, alongside with antique and vintage objects.
As one of two pipe-makers in Norway, you will find Jon’s workshop in the barn. In 2010 he established a tobacco- pipe workshop based of what’s left of the old G. Larsen's pipe-factory at Lillehammer. Jon’s makes his pipes of the best quality briar with over 40 years old briar from Africa.
You can buy Småbruket’s produce and goods in the farm store, via their website, Lønset Handel, Nerskogen Landhandel, Oppdalsmat Smak & Behag and at Mega, Domus in downtown Oppdal.
