Join the exciting half day snowmobile trip to historical Coles Bay!
Join us on a snowmobile journey through the wilderness to the abandoned Russian settlement of Colesbay. This town has been abandoned since the 1960’s but used to house one of the largest populations on Svalbard. The settlement is still standing for the most part, and offers a chance for us to picture what it must have been like to be one of these coal-mining pioneers; however the only residents now are Svalbard reindeer which roam the valley. Our route for this trip takes us through fantastic and diverse nature; navigating huge valleys, mountain sides, and a snow-covered glacier. Our friendly and professional guides have all the experience and drive to make this an unforgettable experience, while remaining safe in such a wild and unforgiving environment.
This trip offers a fantastic introduction to the nature of Svalbard, and to driving snowmobiles, and it is perfect if you have a spare day but do not wish to commit to a trip lasting 8 hours or more. We recommend that everyone drives their own snowmobile; this is easier than driving with a passenger. This trip is dependent on weather conditions, as well as a minimum number of participants.
