Join us on a snowmobile journey through the wilderness to Elveneset. We drive over the frozen Adventdalen river delta to a natural phenomenon known to the Inuits as a “Pingo”. Here we turn north around Helvetiafjellet and follow the winding riverbed to Kreklingpasset. From here it is just a short journey until we find ourselves at Elveneset, an idyllic viewpoint from where we can gaze out at the stillness of Sassenfjord. Here the fjord can freeze, providing habitats for seals and other Arctic mammals. Our return route takes us through fantastic and diverse nature; navigating valleys, mountain sides, and perhaps a snow-covered glacier. Our friendly and professional guides have all the experience and drive to make this an unforgettable experience, while remaining safe in such a wild and unforgiving environment.
This trip offers a fantastic introduction to the nature of Svalbard, and to driving snowmobiles, and it is perfect if you have a spare day but do not wish to commit to a trip lasting 8 hours or more. We recommend that everyone drives their own snowmobile; this is easier than driving with a passenger. This trip is dependent on weather conditions, as well as a minimum number of participants.
