Snowmobile safari to Isfjord Radio - Small Groups Svalbardbooking.com

  • Sjøområdet, Spitsbergen
  •  /  km From You

We head to beautiful Cape Linné, at the outermost part of Isfjorden. Here's the old communications center for Svalbard, Isfjord Radio, which now is a luxury hotel.

We guarantee a small group, maximum of 6 scooters and 9 participants.

Join us on a snowmobile journey through the wilderness to Isfjord Radio located at Kapp Linné, one of the westernmost points of Spitsbergen. Isfjord Radio was the main relay station for signals travelling between Svalbard and the mainland, but it has been converted into a surprisingly modern and stylish hotel with comforts that you would not expect to find so far away from civilization. Some of the best chefs in the archipelago are manning the kitchens and we are served a delicious dinner with coffee and dessert to warm us up before heading out into the elements once more.

Our route for this day-trip takes us through fantastic and diverse scenery; through huge valleys, over mountain sides, up snow-covered glaciers and, if conditions allow, even over the frozen sea. We also pass through the Russian settlement of Barentsburg, here we may have a little time to explore, with many interesting sights to see. Our friendly and professional guides have all the experience and drive to make this an unforgettable experience, while remaining safe in such a wild and unforgiving environment.

We recommend that everyone drives their own snowmobile; this is easier than driving with a passenger. This trip is dependent on weather and snow conditions, as well as a minimum number of participants.
