Experience the thrill of evening snowmobiling through the remote wilderness surrounding Camp Tamok. As we venture into total darkness, this tour might give you the perfect opportunity to get a glimpse of the northern lights as well, adding an extra touch of magic to your Arctic adventure.
This tour is conducted by Norwegian Travel.
Embark on an exciting journey departing from the city center of Tromsø by bus. After a 90-minute relaxing bus journey, you will arrive in an untouched wilderness surrounded by darkness.
Upon arrival at Camp Tamok, you will get outfitted with all the necessary gear and clothing, including thermal suit, boots, gloves and helmet. Our expert guides will provide thorough safety instructions on how to drive a snowmobile, ensuring everyone feels confident and safe before heading out on the tour. Follow your tour guide and navigate along snowy trails.
Although this tour does not focus on chasing the northern lights, as we will venture into total darkness, we might get lucky and witness them while being out on the tour, adding an extra touch of magic to this evening adventure.
You will share a snowmobile with another person, taking turns as the driver and passenger. Halfway through the tour, we’ll have a short break where you'll swap places, ensuring both of you have the chance to drive the snowmobile.
To complete the evening, you can relax with a warm meal and drink by the open fire inside one of the lávvu (indigenous Sámi tent).
After relaxing and warming up, it is time to board the bus again for your return to Tromsø. Get comfortable and take a moment to reflect on your evening adventure out in the Arctic wilderness before arriving back to the city center of Tromsø.
During peak season, we might split the group to avoid large groups. Half of the group will start with a warm meal in the lavvu before heading out on their snowmobile tour.
