Cultural hotel in north – Sortland Hotell – is situated in the centre of Vesterålen and Sortland. The hotel has spring 2010 been renovated. Our 50 rooms includes 4 suites, all have flatscreen TV and original paintings. Famous Norwegian author Lars Saabye Christensen has his own library which has all of his novels and translations.
In 1911/1912 Knut Hamsun stayed for months writing his famous book ‘Look back on happiness’. Among other items our foaje has the door to his room No 10!
Saabyes Bibliotek is also our restaurant – we take great pride in our kitchen!
