Johanneskirken

St John's Church from 1894 is an impressive neo-Gothic church known for having Bergen's highest tower. Beautiful location with a nice view of the city center.

Johanneskirken is undergoing extensive rehabilitation work that will span five years. Among other issues, the church has significant moisture damage and there is a risk of stones falling from the tower. For this reason, the tower is currently wrapped in scaffolding and plastic.

The ongoing work ensures that the church will be:
• Universally accessible – for everyone, regardless of ability.
• More environmentally friendly – with modern heating and improved energy solutions.
• Preserved for the future – as a safe and beautiful setting for faith, culture, and community.

Every Sunday there is a service at 11:00.
In July, the services are at 18:00.
